| Entry fee | $60 Early-bird discount Deduct $10 if paid by 29 June CAQ membership All players must be members of the Chess Association of Queensland - non-members add $10 annual membership fee |
| Eligibility | Age divisions determined by age as at 1 January 2008 |
| Tie-breaks | Any ties for first in the Under 18 Championship will be broken by playoff under CAQ by-laws. Ties for all other placings will result in shared prizes (and titles, if tied for first). |
| Canteen | A canteen will operate each day, serving snacks and lunches |
